Looking Forward To A New Year In Reading

I hope you are having a happy holiday season. I also hope some of your gifts this year were books. I’m excited about the books I’ll be reading in the year ahead. For one thing, the two book clubs I belong to have some excellent books coming up on the schedule. Here are just a few I can’t wait to start on:

Commonwealth by Ann Patchett

Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult

The Gentleman In Moscow  by Amor Towles

Barkskins by Annie Prouix

I have a couple of nonfiction titles I want to read in 2017:

Hamilton: The Revolution by Lion Manuel Miranda

White Trash: The 400-Year Untold History of Class in America by Nancy Isenberg

I am also looking forward to continuing a couple of books in the mystery series I started in 2016:

Blood Hollow (Cork O’Connor #4) by Williams Kent Krueger

The Likeness (Dublin Murder Squad #2) by Tana French

And, of course, my on-going Agatha Christie Challenge:

They Came To Baghdad by Agatha Christie

Oh yes, it’s going to be a very good reading year for me. I trust it will be the same for you. Any special book you’re looking forward to?

These look great, Margot! I think you’ll enjoy the Tana French books. I’ve read all but the latest one. My husband is caught up on the Krueger books but I am not. I also want to read Jodi Picoult’s book. Hers are always thought provoking. Enjoy your 2017 reading plans!!

  3. You’re in for a treat with Commonwealth! I plan to read A Gentleman in Moscow soon, too. Happy 2017, Margot.

Happy New Year Margot. I enjoyed the top 2 books on your list.
