This past month I’ve been reading A Moveable Feast together with about twenty or so other readers. Each week we read a certain section of the book and then discuss our impressions and thoughts. It’s been quite enjoyable.
Wallace, the blogger at UnPutDownable, is sponsoring another read-a-long. I’m mentioning it to you in the hope you might be interested in joining in. The read-a-long is for a three month period, March, April, and May. It turns out the book can be read in 9 pages a day.
And the book? Bleak House by Charles Dickens. It’s so fitting to be reading one of Dickens’ best novels during this his 200th anniversary year. Here’s what the story is about:
Often considered Charles Dickens’s masterpiece, Bleak House blends together several literary genres—detective fiction, romance, melodrama, and satire—to create an unforgettable portrait of the decay and corruption at the heart of English law and society in the Victorian era.
It’s such a great classic that I’m looking forward to reading and discussing it along with others. Check it out and think about it. Complete information is here: Unputdownable

Enjoy, Margot! I read Bleak House a couple of years ago and, despite getting a little bogged down in the middle, ended up really liking it. I’ll be following your progress.
I’m going to read this one with the group!
I had decided to read the Dickens books I’d missed for the Anniversary. Just “bought”** Little Dorrit and Bleak House is the other one I meant to read. I think I’ll go get it and try this challenge (even if I don’t write, it will be fun to read along). ** I’m sure you and your readers all know that these classic books are free on Kindle.
What a great idea than this read-along !
I just my copy yesterday! Looking forward to reading this one with you!
I would love to be able to join in with this. I’ve long said that Bleak House is the best book that I’ve half read, twice. I’ve found it hard to get through due to the length. I know that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the rigid schedule of this one, so I’ll sit this one out.
