Favorite Places: Colorful Colorado

grand-tetons-barn-2wtmkThis is my weekly feature in which I share with you some of the places we have visited. This past week or so we visited Colorado. The people of this lovely state have their own nickname you will see everywhere: Colorful Colorado

ColSceneIt’s a state full of color and beauty.

RedRockYou will see red in the dirt  and the rocks and some of the mountains.

MontPondBlue sky reflected in a pond by our campground in Montrose.

GateThe aspen trees were a beautiful yellow and gold.

FarmOfTreesGreen in the trees, especially in this tree farm.

SageAnd a different green in the sagebrush.

ColWildflwrsThere were still a few wildflowers growing in October.

FireHouseNot all the color was in nature. Some we found in towns,

like this old Fire House and truck.

RidgwyAnd the town itself was full of color. This is downtown Ridgeway.

If you haven’t already experience Colorful Colorado, I hope someday you’ll have the opportunity. Try to go in Fall or Spring when all the tourists and skiers are there. I hope you’ll join me again next Sunday for Favorite Places.
