It’s Tuesday . . . Where are you? is a meme sponsored by Adventures in Reading.
The year is 1518 and the XX have gathered at King Henry VIII’s court for the Order of the Garter. There will be jousting tournaments but the most interesting events are the palace intrigues. The story revolves around a handsome gentleman from Ireland and a princess from France.
I’m reading Royal Blood by Rona Sharon. From the same book here a a couple of teaser sentences.
Once they were mounted and armed, he and the king rode to the queen and tilted courteously. She tied her favor to [her husband's] lance. “Master Deveraux, you have amazed and delighted us with a spate of victories. For defeating last year’s champion of this tournament, we award you with this prize.” She hung a gold bracelet inlaid with sparkling tear-blue crystals on his lance. (page 269)
