My husband, Jay, is back with a review of a new suspense thriller. First, the synopsis of the story from the back cover of the book:

The master criminal and con man known as the Chameleon has eluded international law enforcement for twenty years. Dan Gordon was sure he finally had him, but he was left empty-handed. Now he won’t rest until the Chameleon is stopped. The Chameleon is more than a mere criminal — he’s an undercover sleeper agent. But Gordon is more than he seems, too. He’s an experienced hunter, trained by the Mossad, working now for the CIA. 

Author, Haggai Carmon, weaves a compelling, current-day tale of mystery and intrigue.  He started out with the main character, Dan Gordon, looking for stolen bank assets and in the end had him chasing international terrorist.   

The reader does not know if Dan Gordon is searching for one or many suspects but Dan becomes attached to one and calls him the Chameleon.  Things do not work out initially for Dan Gordon.  

Time passes and a new introduction of this theme of money-theft-to-support-a-terrorist-network comes forward. The hunt is on again for the elusive thief who may be funding terrorists.  

I felt like this was a very possible and highly probable scenario.  Dan visited multiple countries sorting through many names with only a few strings to connect any of it together.

I enjoyed this book It was an easy read although the middle of the book slowed  down considerably for me. I would recommend this book to all readers who like to get their minds wrapped up in possible or probable action suspense.   

About the author, Haggai Carmon: A Chameleon himself, Haggai Carmon was born in Israel and has moved smoothly back and forth between his roles as international attorney undercover intelligence operative, husband, father and most recently, author. Mr. Carmon’s previous novels are Triple Identity and The Red Syndrome.
