My husband, Jay, just came in with these three roses. Can you believe it? It’s November! This would not happen if I were still employed and living in the mid-west. But here we are: retired, visiting our son in California and able to walk his property and pick roses that grow in [...] One day my nine year old granddaughter said something like, “When I’m old like you . . .”. Oh dear. She called me the “O” word. Its not as if I think I’m still 15, although inside I still feel like that. I only have to look in the mirror to see my age.
