Wondrous Words #426

WWWEvery week word-lovers post new words they’ve discovered while reading. It’s called Wondrous Words Wednesday and was created by Kathy at Bermuda Onion’s Weblog.

I found this word on the blog Snow Sparks. The blogger was talking about a book she was reading.

immersive: “Today’s feature is a recent download:  My Absolute Darling, by Gabriel Tallent, a brilliant and immersive, all-consuming read about one fourteen-year-old girl’s heart-stopping fight for her own soul.”

Immersive is an adjective that refers to a computer display or a system, and means generating a three-dimensional image that appears to surround the user.
