Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea asks us to share the first paragraph of a book we are reading. As you can see it’s called First Chapter, First Paragraph Tuesday Intros. As readers we are often captivated or turned away by that first paragraph or two. Let’s see what you think about the first paragraph of my current read.
I’ve been going from one book to another the last couple of weeks. While at the library last week I found this great book: When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. It’s a terrific, award-winning middle school novel. I should finish it soon and will share my thoughts with you. Here’s the first paragraph.
So Mom got the postcard today. It says Congratulations in big curly letters, and at the very top is the address of Studio TV-15 on West 58th Street. After three years of trying, she has actually made it. She’s going to be a contestant on The $20,000 Pyramid which is hosted by Dick Clark.
What do you think?
