Wondrous Words Wednesday is a fun meme I love to play each week. It keeps me looking for new words wherever I’m reading.
This week’s words come from my Word-A-Day calendar. It’s a fun way to play the word game.
1. quondam: Many people were surprised to learn that the quondam poet and professor had since become a tax accountant.
Quondam means former or sometime.
2. festinate: “I assure you, sir,” said the ambassador, “OI am all too aware of the dangers inherent in a festinate decision.”
Festinate means hasty.
Thanks to Kathy at Bermuda Onion, the creator of Wondrous Words Wednesday.

A Beautiful Heist

Those are both great words! Festinate sounds rather sinister to me – I’m going to try to use it today.
I’ve heard both these words before, but never knew the meaning. Thanks for sharing!
there are so many times that I realize my vocabulary is not as good as it should or could be!!!
Wellll….gotta’ say I don’t feel too guilty about not knowing these two.. (not the way I do when you have words from a book I’ve read, and yet I still don’t know them!)….
