Wondrous Words #193

wondrous2Wondrous Words Wednesday is a fun meme I love to play each week. It keeps me looking for new words wherever I’m reading.

This week’s words come from my Word-A-Day calendar. It’s a fun way to play the word game.

1. quondam: Many people were surprised to learn that the quondam poet and professor had since become a tax accountant.

Quondam means former or sometime.

2. festinate: “I assure you, sir,” said the ambassador, “OI am all too aware of the dangers inherent in a festinate decision.”

Festinate means hasty.

Thanks to Kathy at Bermuda Onion, the creator of Wondrous Words Wednesday.
