The Quirky Girls are currently hosting a Judy Blume Reading Challenge. It’s a pleasure to honor this special author. Her books have been special favorites for teens, adults, and children for decades. Maby of her books have also had the distinction of being on banned books list.
As part of the challenge we will be reading Judy Blume’s book, Forever. I just started reading this classic and I’m finding it very interesting. It been a long time since I lived through my teen years, but I could still identify with the dilemmas of these two young people.
I’m hightlighting this book today because I’m hoping to interest you in joining us on the read-a-long. Below is a summary of the book to help you decide.
When you build up something in your mind — really imagine it, wish for it — sometimes, when it actually happens, it doesn’t live up to your expectations.
True love is nothing like that.
Especially not for Katherine and Michael, who can’t get enough of each other. Their relationship is unique: sincere, intense, and fun all at the same time. Although they haven’t been together all that long, they know it’s serious. A whole world opens up as young passion and sexuality bloom.
But it’s senior year of high school, and there are big changes ahead. Michael and Katherine are destined for another big “first”: a decision. Is this the love of a lifetime, or the very beginning of a lifetime of love?
Does that sound like a book you’d like to read? If so, I hope you’ll join the Quirky Girls in March as we all read it together.

I did a Judy Blume challenge last year, and it was great fun reading those books, which for some reason I never read at the right age (probably Judy Blume wasn’t even born then! LOL)
Oh my gosh, I haven’t read Judy Bloom in ages. I can remember vividly how much I loved her, she just seemed to get me. I may have to try this.
I loved this book…made a huge impact on me and of course, the whole librarian calling my mom to see if I really did have permission to read it, is priceless! I just may have to read with you all!
I would love to see if she is as good as I remember her to be. I remember her books being so colorful. She was Great to read as a girl.
I’ll read with you.
