A vegetable garden is definitely one of my Favorite Places to be. One day we were taking a drive along a nice country road leading to Bodega Bay. Just off the road is a nice country bakery. The goodies inside are wonderful but what I wanted to show you is what’s out back. Right next to the small parking lot is a lovely vegetable garden
It really wasn’t snooping since the gate was already open. I believe they wanted me to look at their lovely garden.
They’ve created wide pathways for walking and admiring the plants.
They created the garden for breauty as well as food.
It would not be a hardship to work in this garden.
I will confess this is not the first garden I’ve snooped in. I still remember those beautiful backyard gardens of Williamsburg. And then there are the historic gardens of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. It’s been probably fifteen or so years since we’ve been there. Can someone tell me if they are still there? I hope they have kept them beautiful.
I hope you’ll join me again in a couple of weeks when I’ll show you another one of my Favorite Place.

But of course they wanted you to snoop! Who wouldn’t want to show off that garden? We do that snooping (authorized or sneaky) all the time — as you know, we call it gardening the RV Way. I think you are more tempted to get your fingers in the dirt than I am though!
There’s nothing better than a lovely garden. My in-laws live close to Monticello and the gardens were still there the last time we visited.
I love gardens too – wish I were better at gardening! Here’s a link to the Monticello gardens: http://www.monticello.org/gardens/index.html
I loved the Williamsburg gardens and Monticello too. That’s what I love most – other people’s gardens.
I’m only good with house plants but Dave has lots of tomatoes growing this year.
HI NANA! It’s Q saying that you blog is… AWESOME!!!
This is lovely. I’ve got to “unearth” my inner gardener. I know she’s in here somewhere…
lol My inner Gardener is covered in weeds lol I love the end result. But just dont have the time to put in the effort.
I think it looked inviting too!! I love it!
What a fun surprise!
One of the pleasures of travel is snooping into other people’s gardens. I remember walking in Bath (England) where people had garden walls. We were boosting each other up to take a look.
The French do lovely vegetable gardens, as do the Swiss. Very precise, the Swiss.
The Monticello gardens were there when we snooped around in them (haha) about 10 years ago. Geesh – has it been that long? We’re plotting our new veggie garden location for next year – though I guarantee it won’t be anywhere near as lovely as that one you discovered.
