I am only up to page 151 in this wonderful book and cant put it down - maybe that has something to do with my age ie. 9 months off 60 and lately feeling it! I found this book via a closed eye random pick off the shelves; sometimes I find the best books this way, and so much less bother than reading the backs. Took me out of my genre ie. crime and adventure.
Would love to see Helen Mireen play this part (aged a bit though :)) She seems more the Vicar's wife than Julie Walters. Australian actress Jackie Weaver could do it too.

Hi again, Margot
Thank you for amending the information about how to get a copy of this book: Kay has already ordered it from my website and it will be in the post tomorrow.

Kay, I've just had a look at your site - I really enjoyed reading about Mary Stewart's novels. I've left a brief comment there.
Thank you for ordering my book - I hope it reaches you as quickly as a DHL package of ten copies of my other novel reached their destination in Tennessee: picked up on the Monday, arrived on the Wednesday of the same week. Not bad!

What a lovely surprise from Google Alerts! Thank you so much, Margot, for sharing your enthusiasm for my dear Agnes (especially as she hasn't had an airing since last summer). What a clever idea to try to find a picture! I think Agnes 2 is nearest to capturing her, though she doesn't quite match mine.In my daydreams of having The Dangerous Sports Euthanasia Society being made into a film, one of the people I think of is Julie Walters.
I don’t think it’ll be so easy to get a copy from the Book Depository, Margot. I've just looked at that link, and it directs you to AbeBooks. Almost all of those sellers don't post to buyers outside the UK. This book was published in October 2005, and the publisher, Transita, has now gone out of business. I have over 100 brand new copies of my own, and I’m selling them from my website via Paypal, (with free postage). Whether or not you want to buy a copy, you might like to visit my blog and click on the ‘My Novels’ page to find out more about my writing. (www.christinecoleman.net)

I knew you would like it! I love the author's ability to draw characters and of course I loved reading about an older and interesting older protagonist!

I think this book sounds lovely, Margot. Not sure I'll be able to find it, but I'll see what I can do.
