Monthly Wrap-Up: January

At the end of 2009 I wanted to look back and analyze the books I’d read. I gave up after looking at the 100+ books I’d read. I resolved to do better in 2010. Doing a monthly wrap-up post is my way of doing that. I had a fun and interesting time reading in January. In looking back, I was surprised.

Fiction: 3

Non-Fiction: 6

How did that happen? It didn’t feel like I was concentrating on non-fiction. There were so many interesting subjects: a graphic novel of a trip to Paris; Edith Wharton’s essays on writing fiction; a memoir of a little girl growing up in Africa; a well-known food writer’s advice on stocking your pantry and eating simple food; and essays and quotes from 100-year-olds and 10-year-olds.

Amy Einthorn Challenge

My favorite new friend: Bobo from Don’t Let’s Go To the Dogs Tonight by Alexandra Fuller. I just wanted to hug her and adopt her as my granddaughter.
