Friday was one of the longest blogging days I’ve put in. I was exhausted by the time I quit. I will confess to having a lot of fun doing all this technical stuff. I wouldn’t have been able to say that a year ago, that’s for sure. I can actually hit the HTML button without a panic attack. I also feel better about the appearance of my blog.
Now I need to work on the behind-the-scenes tasks. I’m going to keep going strong on Saturday to make that happen. I haven’t had a chance to visit other blogs so, hopefully, I’ll have a chance to go blog-hopping Saturday afternoon. I’d like to enter some of the mini-challenges as well.
But first I have to work on my list. Here’s a copy of my updated list:
Fix my header pictureClean out and organize my sidebarsFix my ‘About Me’ page- Add Review Policy/Disclosure Statement
- Find and install a plug-in for alphabetizing my booklist
Add ‘Book List’ (alphabetical by genre)Move 2009 & 2010 Reading List to a subdivisions of Book ListFix My Challenges w/subdivisions for Agatha- Create a Favorite Places page
- Create a Food/Recipe page
Make sidebar buttons for books, food- Check my stats on Google Analytics
- Check my blog rating
- Update book reviews on LibraryThing and Goodreads
- Catch up writing book reviews
- Clean up my categories on book review posts
- Brainstorm post ideas for the next month
Thanks to everyone who has been cheering me on.

It’s looking great! I love it!
You’re making wonderful progress! Keep up the good work.
Looks tremendous! You’re doing great.
You have been a very busy bee!
I spent about 2 hours trying to add a favicon last night and gave up
While html code doesn’t scare me anymore, I just can’t get this one to work. Oh well, today is another day.
I love all the changes — your blog looks great!
Your making wonderful progress.
I really like it visually Margot. The middle section is wider and easier to read. I love the buttons on your sidebar which are large and get the point across quickly and simply. Plus they fit together with each other nicely. Great organization. I am impressed by not only all the things you’ve laid out for yourself but also by your ability to see them through.
Congratulations on completing so many tasks! Good luck with sorting your book lists. It took me months to do that! I used the AZIndex plugin, but needed to use the Headspace plugin with custom fields to sort them by author. Let me know if you need any help, as it is quite complicated – unless you find an easier way – which is quite likely!
I love your new header picture. I’ve put in 3 hours today, but they have been more productive in some ways than the over 7 I put in yesterday! Go figure. Keep up the hard, I mean great, work
You’ve done a lot-love your sidebar pictures and how uncluttered it is. I need to unclutter mine. I hope you’re enjoying Lacuna, I loved it. Keep up the good work.
Great progress! I know, who would have thought it would be ‘fun’ to do all of this technical stuff?!
I like how wide the middle section is!!! Very cool and it looks great!!
Hey Mom-
I have something to add to your list:Website Grader http://www.websitegrader.com. You put in your web address and they do a bunch of diagnostics and then give you a grade. Very revealing, and though they take your email they don’t spam you. They give suggestion about how to improve your blog, and obviously you can track what you’re doing over time.
Love the To Do List. How do you make the strike-throughs when you’ve completed something?
All best,
Lynn
You have been crazy busy. I’m so impressed.
Wow! You really have been busy. I love the new header, the uncluttered sidebars, and the new silly pictures everyone gets.(i wonder what mine will look like?) Keep up the good work, and I’m glad you’re having fun too!
