I’m trying my first graphic novel this year too. I’m hoping I won’t have a problem with the writing either. (I already have bifocals … ACK!)

And I think you should ground your son for that comment … no matter what his age!

Funny! I’ve never wanted to even look at a graphic novel, but now I really want to read one. Maybe I’ll wait until I’m in Colorado next time. I always go used-bookstore shopping with our kids there and it would be very funny to pick up this novel or one like it; I’m betting their reaction would completely match your son’s. It’d be worth it even if I hated it.

Cracking up at your son’s reaction! Probably just what my kids would say if they saw me with a graphic novel. I know these are the popular things with kids “of a certain age” but I just haven’t been able to get myself to read one. Don’t know why I’m so turned off by them, I used to spend hours with Archie comics. Good for you for trying something new and proving “women of a certain age” are still open to new things.

I just read my first graphic novels as well. I started out with much simpler fare that French Milk, but I will be looking for others to read as well.

I have this one on my reading list. We’re planning a trip to France this year and I’m thinking this my get me in the mood (well, it doesn’t take much ) I’ve only read one graphic novel and while I enjoyed it I didn’t love it.

Phooey on your son! Doesn’t he know that mature women enjoy trying new things too! I liked this one more than you did. I’m glad you’re not giving up on the genre.
