I’m reading a screenplay titled The Big Sleep by William Faulkner. It was taken from a book by the same name by Raymond Chandler. It features the famous detective Phillip Marlowe, played by Humphrey Bogart. Screenplays are a new way of reading for me. Here’s a little clip:
MARLOWE
Look — you and I want to go on being
friends — and you shouldn’t be here.
(holding her wrap for her)
Be a good girl.
During this speech, Carmen seems to take the wrap. But the wrap falls on to the floor, revealing the fact that Carmen is holding Marlowe’s hand.
CARMEN
Do you think I can be a good girl?

Where am I? I’m in Los Angeles and sometimes in Nevada. It’s the 1940′s and Phillip Marlowe (Humphrey Bogart) has been hired to stop a blackmailer, or pay him off. But quite a few dead bodies show up along the way. Of course, a lot of women are after Marlowe as well, including Lauren Bacall.

Nice teaser..Thanks to you for reminding me of Humphery Bogart. I am going to watch Casablanca to night once again for the 20th time , i guess.
You put me in the mood to watch a Bogart and Bacall movie! What could be better than watching that smoldering chemistry when they are on screen together?!!!
A good teaser and a great movie! My post is HERE.

Loving this teaser!!!!!!!!
I love Raymond Chandler and Phillip Marlowe and Humphrey Bogart and all that Hollywood noir stuff! Not so crazy about William Faulkner, but I’ve never read any of his screenplays. Great teaser!
sounds like a good read and a good movie. If you want to wander down my road I’m home.
Nice one! Screen plays are a bit different from stage plays. Enjoy!
