My first thought after reading the first paragraph in your synopsis was that the town would be up in arms over getting a woman doctor! I find it very strange that it didn’t generate much controversy. I love picking apart movies but unfortunately Ward tends to like every movie he watches!

I’m not into Janette Oke. But I will comment on why no one had a problem with a female doctor, it’s because it was the West. I did some research on early female doctors, the West was a lot more accepting of female doctors because there wasn’t anything else. It was only in the East that it was looked down on.

I’m glad you didn’t recommend it. I read the synopsis and – in fact, even just seeing it was from The Hallmark Channel – I could see myself sobbing already. Now I can save my sobbing for something more deserving! :–) (In fact, I just finished a 20 page children’s book that had me crying at the end, so actually it doesn’t take much to get me going!)
