What happy memories. That teaser reminds me of a part towards the end of Little Women where Jo returns to the old room and then writes a poem about the sisters childhood together.

Yes, I enjoyed reading both The Joy Luck Club and The Kitchen God’s Wife about 5-6 years ago, there was a wave of that kind of books written by Chinese women authors here in Scandinavia at that time. As to hair rollers, never heard of juicecan rollers, were they really empty juicecans? We didn’t have them, but I remember the big pale blue plastic ones, and even worse: one of my childhood friends still uses them.
Great fun following you, Margot, shows how small the world is, we all have the same memories and experiences. I am born and bred Norwegian and have only been to the States for a fortnight some 10 yars ago.
