Tuesday is the day I throw out a few sentences and try to tempt you into reading one of the books I’m reading. This is sponsored by MizB at Should Be Reading. For more teasers click on the image on the right.
The boys dropped their lines and let the gentle movement of the water carry them down. At the same moment they both saw the body, face down at the edge of the bend below the bridge, the pale blue pants and top billowing out in the slow-moving water.
Those sentences are from The Cooking School Murders by Virginia Rich.
I’m using the same book to answer the question: It’s Tuesday, Where are you?
I am in Harrington, Iowa for my yearly visit. I’ve chosen to take an advanced cooking class just for fun. But then it’s not quite so much fun when someone ends up dead and I’m one of the suspects. I know I didn’t do it so I’ll have to help figure out who did.

I love the title. It is teaser enough!
Teaser Tuesdays: Tintin and Cigars of the Pharaoh by Hergé
I agree with Gautami – I was sold with the title of the book. I must check this out.
Good ones! I love the Virgina Rich books.
I have heard a lot about this novel and your teaser makes me want to check it out more. Mine is here: http://rundpinne.blogspot.com/2009/09/to-be-king-teaser-tuesdays.html
I love the title, too!
Great tease! Now I want to read a mystery. Also, that is a fab title. =)

Not quite what they wanted to catch, is it? Interesting teaser!
My teaser is here.
Love your teaser!!
Mine is at http://laurel-rain-snow.blogspot.com/
Wonderful tease! Along with the book title, I’m about to run out and buy the book! My husband called me from a bookstore 20 minutes ago, if only I got here a little earlier. Added this to my TBR list , thanks for an intriguing post!
Your “teaser game”, if I may call it a game, is new to me, and great fun. Lisa explains what it is all about on her blog. With my Scandinavian time schedulen, i.e. one hour behind Greenwich time, I am probably out of step with you in the US, but I’ll try to join in nevertheless:
My teaser: Phuti shook his head sadly. “It is happening all the time now. People do not care how they make things. A little bit of glue and they think that chair will hold together with that. It’s very dangerous.”
“Particularly for traditionally built people”, said Mma Makutsi. What if somebody like Mma Ramotswe sat in one of those chairs? She could fall right down.”
This excerpt is from “Tea Time for the Traditionally Built” by Alexander McCall Smith, published in 2009. I gives a good example of the caring and charmingly oldfashioned atmosphere of these books.
I would hate to be fishing and find a body. thanks for stopping by today.
Wow! Great teaser Margot. Here I had wonderful pictures of floating down the river in an intertube. . . until the body came along!
Here’s my Teaser! ~ Wendi
Sounds a little like Killer Mousse that I reviewed and really liked.
I haven’t heard of this book but it sounds like a good one. I hope yo’re enjoying it!
Great title!
This really grabbed my attention!!! Great teaser!
Love cozies, only cozy authors can write about murder in such a gentle way.

I did type a comment. I don’t want to do it again.
Interesting.. murders in a cooking school! Great teaser!
Here is mine, if you should be interested: http://www.wellreadreviews.com/blog/?p=979
Have a great day!
Sounds like a good mystery.
I’d read this for the title alone! It sounds like a fabulous cozy (I’m assuming it’s a cozy – if it’s not, with that title, it should be!)
I agree that’s a wonderful title. I think this one might be going on my TBR list, even though I hate to cook! Great teaser!
Great teaser! Murder & cooking classes sounds like an interesting combination. As long as their not linked, that is!
Here’s my Teaser Tuesday.
What a wonderful, intriguing teaser today. It really enhances the information the way you combine your Teasers with the Where Are You meme. I always enjoy checking you out on Tuesdays, even if I don’t manage to get back here nearly as often as I want.
My own teaser is at Bookishgal.
Oh my! I don’t think that was the catch they were hoping for when they went fishing that morning.
Oh I do like the sound of this. I love how it starts with such a calm image to one that is rather gruesome!
