It’s Tuesday . . Where are you? is sponsored by Raider Girl 3 at An Adventure in Reading.
I’m on Nantucket Island for the summer. I’m visiting with a multi-generaltional family who have a Summer House here. The whole family is interesting but I’m focusing on three of the women – 90 year old Nona, 60 year old Helen and her 30 year old daughter Charlotte. They each have their own joys and problems and secrets as well.
I’ve been reading Summer House: A Novel by Nancy Thayer. Join me for my tour review tomorrow and an interview with Nancy Thayer on Thursday.
Here are a few teaser sentences from the book:
Something rather strange had been happening to Nona over the last few years. . . The older she grew, the more she seemed to love people in general. . . . She felt an unexplained rush of affection for them all. . . And yet now that her real grandchildren were arriving, what she felt was a kind of dread. She seemed to have lost her enthusiasm for people in particular.

I like the teaser. I felt that it’s the way my mom behaves at times..
Tuesdays: Teaser/Whereabouts
This does make me want to read that book. I love my grandchildren but I do know that feeling of dread – they have so much energy!

Where did my comment go? It disappeared. I think I put that this teaser makes me want to read the book and I know that feeling of dread when the grandchildren are coming to visit – they have so much energy!

Sorry if this is a duplicate comment.
I can relate to that sentiment, unfortunately

Wow that is a great teaser! How sad it would be to feel like that about your family, but I know it happens a lot because life isn’t perfect for many of us. Thanks for sharing this one.
Ooh, I like this! I’ve never read Thayer and look forward to hearing more.
What an interesting teaser – I hope the rest of the book lives up to it!
Hm, I wonder if my mom started feeling that way as her grandkids started arriving.
Great teaser, thanks! And mine is up too, at Bookishgal.
Nice teaser — I’ve been wanting to read that book!
