Joyfully Retired

Yesterday marked six months since I began my blog. I have had so much fun writing something almost everyday. Blogging has taken me down paths I never even thought existed. By far the most rewarding pathway has been the people I have come to know. We have not met face to face but somehow that doesn’t seem to matter. Below are some awards I’ve received over the past few weeks. I’d like to recognize my benefactors and say thank you.

The first award, the Friendly Blogger Award, came from Cathy at Kittling: Books. If you haven’t yet, you really should check out her blog. On Wednesdays Cathy runs a series called Scene of the Blog. This feature shows exactly where bloggers sit and create their blogs. It’s great for all us voyeurs. Cathy is also known for the great books she reads, her photography and, you can’t miss her surveys. Thanks Cathy for this award.

The One Lovely Blog Award came from Kerrie at Mysteries in Paradise. As many of you know I am attempting to read all of Agatha Christie’s writings in order of publication date. Well, this challenge is the brainchild of Kerrie. She handles the monthly carnivals and all the other stuff connected with the challenge. In addition, Kerrie is quite the authority on mystery books of all kinds. The latest in book news is always at the top of her blog. Thanks Kerrie for all you do and for this award.

A week ago I put up my post about my love of chickens (HERE), and what should happen? Jane at FleurFisher Reads knew I needed the Zombie Chicken. Of course I did. You really must check out her blog. Jane lives in England and reads the loveliest books I’ve never heard of. When I read her posts I can hear her beautiful English accent coming right through my computer. She’s quite the library patron as well, checking out three to four books a week. Thank you for the Zombie Chicken. I will wear it well.

The Proximidade Award was a gift from Cheryl at Unadorned Book Blog and from Wanda at A Season To Read. 

Cheryl also has another blog I love called the Crispy-Not-Crunchy Mama Blog. Don’t you love that title? On the Unadorned Book Blog Cheryl specializes in honest book reviews and honest opinions. The other blog is about her life as a stay-at-home mama who also home-schools. Thank you Cheryl for this award. 

Wanda’s blog is so beautiful to see. Each season she changes the background photo to match that season. Right now she has the most incredible pink tree blossoms. Wanda has a wide ranging taste in books but we both love children’s books. We are in the Childhood Favourite Reading Challenge. Thanks Wanda for thinking of me for this award.
