I don’t want to enter the giveaway, but I wanted to say that my grandmother on my mom’s side was an incredible woman — taught kindergarten in the inner city until she was 70! Hard-working, spiritual and a wonderful, wonderful person. I loved her dearly. I like the idea of books for Mothers’ Day. I guess because this book is about the art of giving and receiving, and balancing our needs with others’, I think it’s perfect for moms! It’s “Honor Yourself. Let’s face it — most of us struggle with balancing our own needs with what everyone around us need from us. We don’t ever seem to get it right. But the author offers a unique take on this issue that’s very refreshing. Perfect for moms! (Well, for others, too, but the day for moms is right around the corner…)

When I graduated from high school my grandmother gave me a Bible (just like my Mom’s grandmother had given to her). It exemplifies everything that she is and the woman I’d like to be.
As for my Mom, well, she was a Mom when she needed to be and once I grew up she became my best friend.
Both of my grandmothers gave my my love for cooking. I started cooking when I was 5 years old and have never stopped.
Wow the things my Mother gave me…She gave me her love of the written word. I was given the ability to learn and respect crafts, and how it is not always necessary to complete them the joy is in doing them. She taught me to respect the freedom of all. She taught me the knowledge in all things is wonderful. She taught me how to be open minded and fair. I was taught how to love all people no mater how different they are and to love them for their differences.
My Paternal Grandmother taught me how to take pride in what I acomplish and what I can cook and make for others.
My Maternal Grandmother taught me how to be a lady and that respect for your elders is important but respect for yourself is more important.
I am adding sone here I learned from my sister to never give up. And I learned from my Aunt Kaye that it dosent matter what people say about you it is what you think about yourself that truly matters.
I could keep going but I am missing my family too much.
My mother gave me a necklace that was passed on to her. This is very special to me. Thanks for the giveaway!
My mother taught me to sew.

Hi Margot,
Me again, I guess I wasn’t reading the info right. I forgot to tell you about my mother. My mom taught me how to crochet. I still crochet and every time I make a Granny Square I think of my mom. That was the first thing she taught me to crochet. Which at the time seemed like I would never catch on doing this. After numerous times of ripping the square out, I did finally get the hang of it. My mom was very patient about teaching me this skill. When I was ready to give up she hung in there and kept giving me the encouragement to continue.

My mom taught me a lot of things. She taught me how to sew, how to cook, clean, and not let bad things get me down. She told me that I can be anything I want to be. My grandmother taught me the importance of family and the importance of not writing on the wall with purple crayons.
Well, she passed on to me her love of reading and she taught me to shop!!! Both very important skills:) Thanks!

I miss my Grandmother so much!! She gave me lots of things but most of all I love the time she gave me with her. I stayed with her all the time and we played cards and worked crossword puzzles together and went shopping! She was the best!! She encouraged me to finish college and I did! I just wish I would’ve finished while she was alive.
The most special thing that my mother ever gave me was her friendship. She was always my best friend until she passed away. I never had or ever will have a friend as special as her.
My mother has given me a lot. She’s quite the woman. One thing she has passed along to me is the love of reading and the love of scrapbooking.
My mother was without a doubt the kindest most unselfish person I’ve ever known. So was my biggest supporter and my biggest should to lean on. What I hopefully have learned from her is the unconditional love a mother should give to her child. If I’m half as successful as my mother my children will be very lucky. Thanks.

My mother taught me to love the outdoors. She always took me fishing, camping and taught me to cook and togrow my own garden. She is 97 years old now, and I am over 70.
I would love to win the Mother’s Day books. Thanks for considering me.
My grandmother gave me the joy of loving things that did not cost a lost of money – like laying out on a blanket and looking at cloud shapes, looking for 4 leaf clovers, picking pretty flowers, singing songs and playing word games.
My mom gave me the gift of creativity – she can make anything I swear!
Thanks
My mother gave me the confidence to rely on myself and not wait for others to come to my rescue.
My mom gave me a really nice afghan that she crocheted for me. I love it!
This is a great question! My mother gave me so much – a sense of the absurd, a strong sense of humor, a love of life and people. She also gave me the genes that require me to be on a constant diet!! She has given me an example to pattern my life after – to live deeply, generously, and larger locus of control. She’s encouraged us all to try for our dreams despite our fears and difficult people that we might come across.

On the day of my grandfather’s funeral, my grandma gave me a necklace that I had admired for about 10 years that she gave to her mother for mother’s day in 1963.
My mom gave me the gift of determination. She taught me to never give up when times got hard.
My mother taught me to always be kind to others and to lend a hand if I can. She was always there for everyone. She lived to be 90 1/2 and died peacefully in her sleep.
