  • My grandmother is one of the strongest women I know. She grew up picking cotton, ended up a single mom, worked her fingers to the bone in an automobile assembly plant, and she showed her true strength when we lost my father (her only son) two years ago to a sudden heart attack. She is an amazing women who also shared with me her love for reading. I would love to win these books and share them with her.

my mom raised us to be the best we can be and she taught me so much that i have passed down to my own children!

my mom would love this because she loves to read and she totally deserves this for all the sacrifices she has made for me and my two sisters!!!!

My mom was my very best friend. Everyone who knew her, loved her. She taught me how to make people feel special and loved. She was truly an angel, and I guess that God needed another one next to him.

  • What a fun site. Just found it by mistake but glad I did.
I write a series about a retirment home and the characters that live within.
It does not make characterchures of the residents but rather presents them as real people with real old-ageness joy of living.
Only one of the series is publised (because the ‘they’s’ keep saying that older protagonists are not ‘in’ now. That young mothers, etc. and their romances and problems are in, but I think they are wrong (at least hope-springs-eternal that they are wrong.
Anyway…glad I found you and happy traveling dla

My Mom gave me some crafts that she did that are so precious to me. She was so handy and crafty. I see her every time I look at these crafts.

My mother passed on her love for growing her own vegetables and herbs to cook with. She gave me a cookbook where she added several of her recipes on the back pages. Reading them today, I can still hear her voice explaining what to do first.

my mom passed down her sense of humour and her paitence to me! i would be nothing without her love and guidence! she’d love these books!

My mom and my grandmothers gave me a love of baking (and, apparently, a talent for it).

  • My mother passed along to me the talent for saving money. She also taught me the gift of giving. My mom never made a lot of money, but she was always good at saving it and then blessing someone who needed it. I think that is one of the reasons God made her so good at it.

Thank you for the great giveaway.

I adored my grandmother. She lived next door to us and I spent many happy days in her kitchen.

My mother taught me that sometimes you need to stretch beyond your comfort zone to do the right thing.
