It’s time for Wondrous Words Wednesday in which we share with you some of the new words we’ve come across in our reading this week. I found a couple of words in a little book called Five Minute Mysteries.
Juxtaposition means to place or deal with close together for contrasting effect. I saw it in the book like this:
” . . no crowded little bunches of commercial ugliness to blunt the juxtaposition of urban rural.”
Polyglot means knowing and using several languages. Shown in the book this way:
“Because practically everyone on Azure came from somewhere else, usually very far away, the polyglot that flows from places like . . .”
This weekly feature is sponsored by Kathy at Bermuda Onion’s Weblog. Check out her website for more new words as well as some excellent book reviews. Kathy is some kind of speed reader as she always has three to five book reviews a week. And, the reviews are always fun to read and honest. I’ve found her reviews to be, as they say in some part of the world, “spot on”. Check her link here.

I just love your blog! Thanks for playing along.
Polyglot is such a good word (although not a new one to me)!
My words are here.
Well I’ve seen polyglot and I guess I didn’y know what it was! Thanks for sharing
